The eagle has landed in the UK eventually only a couple of hiccups on the way. Taupo to Auckland flight cancelled due to weather, so a mad dash to Auckland airport. Made it with even time for a wine before I boarded. The only problem, I was the last one to check in, all seats allocated, so got stuck in the middle. Seven movies, 1 book, 4 glasses of wine, 6 bottles of water, 4 airplane meals (very tasty actually) recommend Cathey Pacific in air restaurant. Twenty 24 hours later and I am on the other side of the world. Europe here I come.
Is it just me who thinks when you are trapped between two strangers (very nice strangers may I add) all you think about is when is it OK to ask to get up and go to the toilet. I am amazed in how many people can hold on for over 12 hours. Not me. I guess 4 wines and 6 bottles of water don't help. Happy to land in Manchester to be greeted by a very smiley Dad.
Always lovely catching up with family and after a rainy start, the sun has come out and enjoying a few Pimms in the garden and walks round the beautiful countryside of Shropshire.
Come on my journey and visit places new and old on my arty adventure over the next 3 months.
