A year in the planning. I am here, La Macina Di San Cresci, it is more spectacular than I expected. San Cresci is in the heart of Tuscany just outside the town of Greve in Chianti, between the two great cities of Renaissance, Florence and Siena. Here the work of nature and man has shaped a beautiful and unique landscape. Scattered with vineyards and olive groves interspersed with farmhouses, castle turrets and ancient hamlets.
The parish church of San Cresci is the oldest in the Chianti area, dating back to at least 938. It has been loveling restored and the frescoes on the wall are amazing. You can see the bell tower in the photo.
The priest's house which is adjacent to the church has now been converted in to a place to stay for the artist's in residence. Duccio and Demetria spent 10 years restoring this beautiful place.
It is an honour to have the opportunity to live and work in such a beautiful place.
