Rhythm and Wind Woodblock Print

‘Rhythm and Wind’ came about after sailing in a regatta on Lake Taupō

The woodblock print was created using a relief printing technique. The image was drawn onto wood, then using traditional hand carving tools all the white areas are carved away. The raised area which is left is rolled with ink using a brayer and then printed. Only the raised areas recieve the ink and the white areas were carved away, revealing the image.
