The Race Is On Woodblock Print

‘Getting Close’ was created using a relief printing technique. The image was drawn onto wood, then using traditional hand carving tools all the white areas are carved away. The raised area which is left is rolled with ink using a brayer and then printed. Only the raised areas recieve the ink and the white areas were carved away, revealing the image.
